Laura McLean-Ferris

Laura McLean-Ferris is New York-born writer and curator based in Turin, Italy, where she is at work on a novel exploring subjective porosity and performance. Her criticism and essays have appeared in 4Columns, Artforum, ArtReview, Bookforum, frieze, Flash Art International, and Mousse, and she has authored catalogue essays on artists including Harold Ancart, Nina Beier, Anna-Sophie Berger, Deimantas Narkevičius, Shahryar Nashat, and Rachel Rose. She was the recipient of a 2015 Creative Capital | Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant, and her short-form collection The Lacustrine—a book on lakes—was published in 2016. Formerly she was Chief Curator at Swiss Institute, New York, where she organized numerous exhibitions and projects, most recently the first survey of Rosemary Mayer, which was accompanied by the books Rosemary Mayer: Ways of Attaching (2023) and The Letters of Rosemary and Bernadette Mayer (2022).
