Key Operators
Online Talk: Claire L. Evans
Thursday, September 26
7pm
Female visionaries have always been at the vanguard of technology. Women turn up at the very beginning of every important wave in technology—from the invention of programming to the dawn of social media. They may have been hidden in plain sight, their inventions and contributions touching our lives in ways we don’t even realize, but they have always been part of the story. In a keynote inspired by her 2018 history Broad Band: The Untold Story of the Women who Made the Internet, author Claire L. Evans discusses how female labor is obscured and shares key lessons from internet pioneers that may still serve us well in the future.
A recording of the online talk is available upon request via email.
