Online reading: Moyra Davey

The artist Moyra Davey will give an online reading in the context of Patricia L. Boyd’s solo exhibition Hold at Kunstverein München. Through the medium of text, Davey allows for a direct and personal disclosure of her own examination of the conflicting as well as stimulating entanglement of art, theory, and life. This radical invitation into the artist’s privacy makes the individual appear abstractly far away: the personal and the public seem to level themselves, almost becoming one.

Moyra Davey is a New York-based artist whose work spans photography, film, and writing. Davey has produced several film works, including the 2019 film i confess. She is also the author of Burn the Diaries, The Problem of Reading and editor of Mother Reader: Essential Writings on Motherhood. Furthermore, Davey is the 2020 recipient of the John S. Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship.
