FOR NOW. 200 Years Kunstverein München is published on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Kunstverein München and is dedicated to the institution, its history, its publics and its artists. It provides insights into the work of the association, taking as its starting point the incompleteness of the archive and the resulting need to constantly re-examine and rearticulate its own history.‍ In addition to contributions by Andrea Fraser, Christian Fuhrmeister, Quinn Latimer, Doreen Mende, Philip Ursprung, and the Kunstverein’s archivists Jonas von Lenthe and Johanna Klingler, the book brings together an extensive collection of visual material and other documents that retrace the institution’s rich artistic, but also bureaucratic and sociopolitical, activities over 200 years.
