Instructions: How to buy Jahresgaben 2020
Since the Kunstverein München is currently closed due to the measures adopted in relation to the COVID-19 virus, the team is faced with the task of realizing the Jahresgaben 2020 virtually. From November 30, the comprehensive digital format will be available to members of Kunstverein München and to the public via shop.kunstverein-muenchen.de, with purchases possible from December 4 at 3pm.
The annual Jahresgaben date back to the foundation of the Kunstverein München in 1823, when members received a print each year as part of their membership. Over time, this developed into a group exhibition with work by mostly Munich-based artists. Our members have the opportunity to purchase high-quality works at special prices and thus equally support the local artistic production as well as Kunstverein München. For the participating artists, this exhibition is an important presentational platform and source of income and is therefore of utmost importance, especially this year. The works of more than 85 artists were gathered which bear differentiated and multi-layered testimony to the artistic production of the last turbulent months. Moreover, the Jahresgaben became an important format reflecting the diversity of the city’s contemporary art scene by presenting and discussing its works. Our members have the opportunity to purchase works at special prices and thus support the local artistic production as well as the Kunstverein München.
The condition for the purchase is membership with Kunstverein München. It is also possible to become a member when purchasing a Jahresgabe. Those cannot be reserved and can only be purchased from December 4 through 13, 2020.
