Im Schaufenster am Hofgarten wird noch bis Mitte Juni das Gedicht Roses der amerikanischen Dichterin Dorothea Lasky präsentiert. Das Gedicht stammt aus ihrem kommenden Band Flowers, der in diesem Jahr in Jason Dodges Lyrikverlag fivehundredplaces erscheint. Für die Präsentation im Kunstverein wurde es von der Künstlerin Vera Lutz ins Deutsche übersetzt.

Die Präsentation ist die erste Ausgabe der neuen Schaufenster-Reihe, die von Dodge, Herausgeber von Fivehundred Places, konzipiert ist. Zu jeder Ausstellung wird ein Gedicht aus kommenden Publikationen des Verlags präsentiert und neue Lyrik bereits vor ihrer Veröffentlichung im öffentlichen Raum sichtbar gemacht.

Until mid-June, the Schaufenster am Hofgarten will present the poem Roses by the American poet Dorothea Lasky, alongside its German translation by the artist Vera Lutz. The poem is selected from Lasky’s forthcoming volume, Flowers, which will be published this year by Jason Dodge’s poetry press 500places.

The presentation is the first installment in a new Schaufenster-series conceived by Dodge, editor of 500 Places. For each exhibition chapter, Dodge presents a poem, selected in collaboration with the institution, from volumes that will appear later this year.

Jason Dodge liest eine Auswahl an Texten, die am Tag der Veranstaltung selbst ausgesucht werden. Die Lesung entfaltet sich ohne vorgegebenes Programm, wobei jeder Text in Beziehung zum anderen und zur entstehenden Situation gesetzt wird.

Die Lesung dauert etwa 25 Minuten, mit anschließendem Umtrunk und Gespräch. Die Veranstaltung findet auf Englisch statt.

Jason Dodge will read a selection of texts, chosen on the day of the event. The reading unfolds without a fixed program, with each text positioned in relation to the others and to the situation at hand.

The poetry reading will last approximately 25 minutes and will be followed by drinks and conversation. The event will be held in English.

Amedeo Maria Schwaller präsentiert eine Live-Performance auf der Shō, der traditionellen japanischen Mundorgel, die im Gagaku, der historischen Hofmusik Japans, verwendet wird. Das Instrument besteht aus einem Bündel von Bambusrohren und erzeugt durch kontinuierlichen Atem lang anhaltende Akkorde, wodurch ein dichtes und sich langsam veränderndes Klangfeld entsteht.

Amedeo Maria Schwaller presents a live performance for shō, the traditional Japanese mouth organ used in gagaku, the ancient court music of Japan. Composed of a cluster of bamboo pipes, the instrument produces sustained chords through continuous breath, forming a dense and slowly shifting harmonic field.

Each performance lasts approximately 15 minutes and takes place on the hour at 15:00, 16:00, and 17:00. For more information on the performance, please visit our website.
