Die Ausstellung Fragments, or just Moments von Tony Cokes ist noch bis 11. September zu sehen. Am Samstag, den 10. September um 16 Uhr wird der Künstler Noah Barker einen Vortrag mit dem Titel A long wave with an undertone of expansion halten. Der Vortrag befasst sich in Form von assoziativen Exkursen mit Otl Aichers Designprogramm für die Olympischen Spiele in München 1972 sowie dessen Systematik. Abends findet außerdem ab 22 Uhr eine Finissage-Party im Kunstverein statt.

Für die den Kunstverein München, das Haus der Kunst sowie den zwischen ihnen liegenden öffentlichen Raum umfassende Ausstellung hat Cokes neue Arbeiten entwickelt: Some Munich Moments 1937–1972 nähert sich ausgehend von historischem Quellenmaterial der Geschichte der beiden Institutionen. Inhaltlicher Ausgangspunkt ist die ideologisch-propagandistische Verknüpfung beider Ausstellungsorte während der NS-Zeit sowie deren kulturpolitische Rolle im Rahmen der 20. Olympischen Spiele 1972 in München. Weitere neue Arbeiten finden sich in der Unterführung, die den Hofgarten und den Englischen Garten miteinander verbindet, sowie am Zaun des US-Generalkonsulats.

Ende des Jahres erscheint anlässlich von Fragments, or just Moments eine Publikation bei DISTANZ mit umfassendem Bildmaterial und Beiträgen von Tina Campt und Tom Holert sowie einer Einführung in das kollaborative Ausstellungsprojekt.

Tony Cokes’s exhibition Fragments, or just Moments is on view through September 11. In this context, on Saturday, September 10 at 4 pm, the artist Noah Barker gives a talk entitled A long wave with an undertone of expansion. By means of digressions, the talk revolves around Otl Aicher’s Munich Olympics design program and the year 1972, which is entered through several different coinciding events. The evening concludes with a finissage party at the Kunstverein starting at 10 pm.

For the exhibition spanning the Kunstverein München, Haus der Kunst, as well as the public space situated between them, Cokes has developed a number of new works: Some Munich Moments 1937–1972 examines the past of the two institutions by drawing on historical source material. The starting point is the ideological-propagandistic link between the two exhibition sites during the Nazi era as well as their cultural-political role in the context of the 20th Olympic Games in Munich in 1972. Further works are on view in the underpass connecting the Hofgarten and the English Garden, and overground on the fence of the U.S. General Consulate.

Fragments, or just Moments is accompanied by a catalog that will be published at the end of this year by DISTANZ. The publication features extensive visual material as well as newly commissioned essays by Tina Campt and Tom Holert, which are prefaced by a comprehensive introduction to the collaborative exhibition project.

Tabloid Press bespielen als dritter Gast das Präsentations- und Veranstaltungsformat On and Off the Grid, das sich verschiedenen Formen des Publizierens widmet, und im Schaufenster am Hofgarten verortet ist.
Tabloid Press befasst sich mit der Poesie der verkörperten Enthüllung: Unabhängig von Format und Funktion sind ihre Aktivitäten immer ein Mittel, um den Körper, sei er kollektiv oder individuell, mit Lyrik zu durchdringen. So fand im Rahmen dieser Präsentation eine Lesung der Dichter*innen, Autor*innen und Publizist*innen Zoe Darsee und Nat Marcus statt, die das Archiv einer Freundschaft teilten. Die beiden haben Tabloid Press 2014 konzipiert — die erste Veröffentlichung des Projekts war eine Gossipkolumne auf Zeitungspapier. Die Aktivitäten haben sich in den darauffolgenden Jahren auf die Organisation von Poesie-Workshops, die Gestaltung von Büchern, Kleidung und die Bereitstellung von Textdokumenten für Live-Performances ausgeweitet.

Tabloid Press presents the third iteration of the series On and Off the Grid, a program of presentations and events dedicated to various form(at)s of publishing and located in the window display at the Hofgarten.
Tabloid Press poetics are embodied disclosures, versed body politics, tall orders. They are poets just talking, playing with talking. The effect of its lyrics were intended not only for the reader in private, silent engagement, but for the whole interpersonal terrain. In the context of this presentation, a reading of the poets, authors, and publishers Zoe Darsee and Nat Marcus took pace, sharing their archive of friendship. The two conceived this project in 2014 with the first publication being a gossip column on newsprint. In the following years, Tabloid Press has released publications, widening its activities to include facilitating poetry workshops, designing books and clothing, and providing textual documentation for live performance.

Die Residency Peripheral Alliances wird den Abschluss des Programms mit einer finalen Ausstellung feiern. Über zwei Jahre hinweg haben mehr als 30 lokale und internationale Künstler*innen an diesem Ort gemeinsam gearbeitet, gelebt und gelernt. Die Abschlussausstellung besteht aus Beiträgen der diesjährigen Resident*innen. Das Programm beginnt am Samstag, den 17. September um 14 Uhr mit Performances, Lesungen und Führungen. Die Ausstellung wird ebenfalls am Sonntag, den 18. September von 14 bis 18 Uhr geöffnet sein. Wir laden Sie zu diesem Anlass herzlich in die Residency in der Brucker Straße 34 in 82266 Inning am Ammersee ein.

The residency Peripheral Alliances will celebrate the conclusion of its program with a final exhibition. More than 30 local and international artists have been working, living, and learning together at the former farm house over the last two years. The festive weekend opens on Saturday, September 17 at 2 pm and features performances, readings, as well as guided tours. The main exhibition presents works by this year’s artists in residence. It will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 2–6 pm. We warmly invite you to the residency at Brucker Strasse 34 in 82266 Inning at lake Ammersee.
