About Peripheral Alliances
The transdisciplinary residency Peripheral Alliances is a place where the participants have the opportunity to meet, work, and stay. The former farm in Inning close to the Ammersee is available to Kunstverein München in order to host invited residents through September 2022. Distant, but not detached from the existing architecture of the Kunstverein, the residency offers a shift in perspective and opens up artistic dialog beyond the city. The concept draws on dynamic forms of production as well as togetherness and is interested in collaborative exhibition formats. Thus, democratic (self-)organization as part of an artistic practice is at the center of collective work within the format. The intersections of this collaborative network enable the exchange of emotional and material resources.
About the house and the living situation
The spacious site consists of a residential house with 6 bedrooms, various workshops (ceramics, wood, metal), work spaces, and several common rooms including a kitchen. The house can be reached in about an hour by public transport from Munich’s central station. The Ammersee can be reached in about 20 minutes by foot. The house is inhabited by several residents at any given time. It is up to these residents to organize maintain the house and to arrange living together.
Accessibility
The residency is not barrier-free. Nevertheless, we look forward to receiving applications from people with disabilities and will try to find solutions for participation within the scope of our possibilities.
