In the midst of the so called new economy, it is relevant to look at the question of exchange and transformation in society in general as well as in contemporary art, to ponder and question the creation and dissolution of values within various types of economies, of circulation of goods, ideas, information and feelings. In this sense exchange involves different forms of transformation and strategies of informalisation, as well as media jamming and import and export of labour. Exchange & Transform as notions also imply an activity between the local context, including Kunstverein München in itself, and a wider, even global, context.
