Heimo Zobernig
28 August – 10 October 1999
Among other interventions in the context of his exhibition, Heimo Zobernig converted “the representative ambience of the Kunstverein’s entrance area with regard to its functionality and its role as a place of social encounter: the gate as a marked boundary to the outside was painted orange, a monumental mirror was installed above the equally monumental bar, which now duplicates the traditional ritual of the opening and records it as an image akin to a panel painting, and a post-modernist bookcase was built, which takes into account the function of the building as a pool of information,” as stated in the press release.
