Künstlerinnen (Women artists)
Marie Marcks, Ingrid Amslinger, Henrike Bröse, Ruth Kohler
July 24 – September 6, 1981
The exhibition catalogue states: “According to the ‘Künstlerreport’ of 1975, we know that a quarter of the artistic workforce in the Federal Republic of Germany are women—and yet only about one in ten solo exhibitions of contemporary art involve women artists. Our event aims to counter this deplorable situation. Further exhibitions under the title Künstlerinnen (Women Artists) will follow in the coming years.” The exhibition format did not, however, continue as planned.
